Since 2012, UCSA has used a rubric to track legislator’s votes on legislation that affect students and California higher education. The results are tracked in UCSA’s Higher Education Report Cards (HERC), in which legislators receive grades based on their “Yes” or “No” votes, and on their absences.
As UCSA takes official stances on legislation, any vote that a Legislator casts (Aye, Nay, Not Voting, or Abstain) on the bill will be incorporated into their grade, in real time.
