Every year, UCSA nominates undergraduate students to sit on UC systemwide committees that deal with critical policy matters ranging from admissions policy and financial aid to mental health, equity and diversity, and more. These are issues that affect every student in the UC system, and it is vital that our institution has dedicated, vocal champions on these decision-making bodies.
Systemwide committees vary in the frequency and location of their meetings. For in-person meetings, travel expenses for student representatives will be covered by the UC Office of the President. Guidelines for student representatives to Academic Senate committees can be reviewed here.
Descriptions of all committees can be found here. The committees listed below currently have undergraduate vacancies for the upcoming academic year. Applications are due on August 25, 2026.
Please contact Caroline Nguyen at policy@ucsa.org with any inquiries.
Requirements: Systemwide Committee Representatives are expected to serve one-year terms. If selected, UCOP will check with your campus’s registrar to verify that you are a currently enrolled student in good academic and disciplinary standing. Applicants must be able to attend all committee meetings and participate in student representative conference calls as scheduled.
